Deck view

The frequent shifts from downpour to sunshine produced many rainbows. This one from the deck of our apartment.

Countryside Drive

During our approximate 150 mile drive today, amazing waterfalls were among the highlights. This one called Seljalandsfoss was fun because we were able to hike back behind the water. Yes, we got soaked, but the sniffles will be worth it.

Church and State

No separation of church and state here. This is the largest, and official state church of Iceland (Lutheran). Also taken on our beautiful bike tour.

Bike Tour of Reykjavik

We lucked out with beautiful weather for our bike tour of Reykjavik. The building in the background is City Hall. We learned many factoids on this tour with an excellent guide. One of which would greatly interest our Alaskan friends / family. Halibut is illegal to catch because it is endangered. Occasionally one gets caught in the nets and can't be saved. The selling price paid for such a catch must all go to the conservation fund. No profit can be made on the sale.

Streets of Reykjavik, Iceland

Our first walk down the streets of Reykjavik. The weather here seems to change rather quickly.
